Description

Newcastle upon Tyne has for many years been seen as one of the best cities in the UK to come to party. The sheer number and concentration of pubs and clubs, as well as the welcoming nature of Geordies, is a magnet to people from all over the country. More recently the craft beer boom has seen independent breweries mushroom, giving visitors even more of a reason to choose “The Toon” to celebrate.

We are thrilled to offer this 3 stop brewery tour that takes in some of the best that the North East has to offer. You’ll be taken around by one of our expert local guides and all the tastings are included in your ticket price.

Full description

Our first stop will be the trail blazing Tyne Bank Brewery. Founder Julia Austin who took inspiration from the US West Coast brewing scene founded Tyne Bank Brewery way back in 2011.

Building on the North’s historic love of beer, their craft ales soon became so popular they outgrew their first home, moving in 2016 to an industrial-style, 13,000 sq ft warehouse with tap room and events space on the edge of Ouseburn, home to Newcastle’s vibrant creative community.

Next it’s a short hop to Full Circle Brewery. Launched in late 2019, Full Circle Brew Co, located in Hoults Yard gives drinkers the full experience as you indulge your taste buds in fresh beer and gaze through the glass-fronted taproom admiring the shiny vessels making up their 30 HL brewery.

A difficult first year with Covid still saw plenty of positives, with accolades including ‘Best Newcomer’ by Beer52 and in the ‘top 10 new breweries in the world’ by RateBeer.

Our final stop is Byker’s very own Brinkburn Street Brewery. Established in 2015 by Lee Renforth, his familial ties to the area ensure the focus is very much rooted in the local community. It’s a laid back place to end the tour and with the impressive food offering so a great place to grab a bite to eat as well.

Please kindly note that venues may be subject to change.

Tasting measures are usually a 1/3 or 1/2 and these differ in amount depending on the venue however guests usually always have a drink in their hand (unless they drink super fast), and we find it’s just the right of beer tastings for the time spent on the tour.
